Are you a fan of our mugs? Dreaming of crafting your very own Mud Mug? This class is perfect for you!
Mr MUD himself will teach you step by step the techniques used to make our mugs including throwing the beaker on the potter’s wheel and attaching a pulled handle.
The class begins with a demonstration on mug-making techniques, followed by step-by-step guidance to shape your own mug. Each participant will have 2 turns on the potter’s wheel and learn how to pull a handle before selecting their favourite mug to attach a handle to. Typically beginners will have just one of the two pieces worthy of firing, but should you manage to create two masterpieces, there is the option to keep and handle the second mug. (£5 Surcharge)
You don’t need any experience to attend so both complete beginners and experienced potter’s are all welcome.
During you class you will use stoneware clay and after 4 weeks it will be fired with a beautiful creamy coloured glaze as standard.
There is also the option to return another day to one of our pottery painting workshops and paint your pieces with underglazes. ( £22.50 Surcharge )
We have a strict 1 week advance notice policy for rescheduling or cancelling bookings.
Aim to arrive 10-15 minutes early to give plenty of time to get the Car Parked and get all sorted.
Parking and Traffic The Moira Roundabout can have heavy traffic at times, plan your journey with google maps to account for traffic and ensure you arrive on time. We don’t have our own carpark, so we’d recommend parking at the free Moira Library Car Park which is a 2 minute walk from our studio.
Our pottery wheel classes are suitable for anyone aged 8+.
